![]() ![]() The damage scales only with level, not AP, and at max level it hits you for 200 damage. If he gets 3 stacks on you, he deconstructs a part of you and deals bonus damage.īut he must be deconstructing pinky toes, because the damage is pretty minimal. When Vel'Koz hits you with an ability, he applies one stack of Deconstruction on you, along with a big, scary triangle graphic that warns you what's happening. Rule 4: Deconstruction isn't as bad as it sounds It sounds painful, right? Nobody wants to be "deconstructed." And if you've seen the sweet teaser trailer that Riot made for the champion where Vel'Koz dissintegrates a dude's face, you're right to be wary of his passive ability, called Deconstruction. Or even better, jump behind him and smash his face in while he's helplessly trying to find a new target with his 2-minute-cooldown ability. The key word there is "slowly" - if you have any sort of movement ability, you can jump to the side and avoid the whole thing. When he ultimates, he gets rooted and can rotate slowly in position to change the direction of the laser beam. The laser beams of death sure are pretty.Īfter you get used to it, though, it's pretty easy to stay out of its death line, especially if you're close to Vel'Koz. Rule 3: Find his blind spot The first time that Vel'Koz uses his ultimate on you, you're probably going to die because you're dumbfounded by how awesome it looks. On the other hand, Tectonic Disruption will deal damage and knock you backwards and stun you for a second. The Rift will deal damage to you, but it's usually the last ability Vel'Koz levels so the damage will be low. If you have to choose between getting hit be Void Rift (long, rectangular tear in the ground) and Tectonic Disruption (small, circular explosion), choose Void Rift. Keep an eye on the ground when fighting Vel'Koz, and if anything appears at your feet, run! Void Rift and Tectonic Disruption both have big graphics on the ground a slight delay before their big damage hits. Rule 2: Don't stand on… well, anything Remember the old "the floor is lava" game we played as kids? Well, everything is lava and/or laser beams with Vel'Koz and his Battlecast mechanical skin. Treat him like you would a Karthus or a Veigar, and leap in with confidence! He some minor slows and a knockback, but this is no Ahri. This little tentacle monster is as immobile as they come, lacking even a single escape or movement-focused ability. ![]() Rule 1: Jump Right At Him Vel'Koz can dish out a lot of damage, but he's not going anywhere. ![]()
